Inside the cave

The hike to the lava tube included a two mile walk on this trail, but none of us had been allowed to go on it before. It was guided by employees of Friends of the Volcano and it’s called Wild Cave Exploration.

New Beach Tree Planted. Old Beach Tree Showing Signs of Recovering.

A new Beach Tree was planted this week and the old Beach Tree has been propped up and it is currently showing green growth on its naked branches.

Hoping the Beach Tree will Survive

Still maintaining healthy roots the tree has been trimmed and placed in a position to recover. We will keep our fingers crossed. There is rumor that another tree will be planted, but it will take time until it will leaf out and grow.
